Welcome to BLACK CAT BOOKS; a British source of old radio, wireless, television, electrical, electronic and other (technical) books and pamphlets with FREE KNOWLEDGEABLE ADVICE relating to them

Each 'Sorted by:' page holds all the details of all the catalogue items, but sorted by author, title, etc. into separate pages to suit your preferred method of looking for items.... You have to note down all book+list numbers on any 'Sorted by:' page and send an E-mail to: to deal with us.

We apologise for the removal of the previous simple method of using checkboxes to select books, but the Service Provider has disabled this feature. We hope to restore it in the not too-distant future.

Not in the catalogue ? Just enquire by E-mail to:

Competent user: Skip the rest of this page and use the Sorted by: tabs above.

Nervous / new user: Congratulations ! You already know most of what is needed to use this catalogue and contact us. All you need to know is:
  • Where are the 'scroll bars' to move across (at the bottom) or up and down (at the right-hand side) of the screen
  • How to 'left-click' (press the left button on the mouse with the cursor in the right place)
  • How to 'drag' (press the left button on the mouse with the cursor in the right place, then move the mouse while keeping the left button pressed down until the correct place is reached then release the left button)
  • How to search for a particular word or phrase

(This works on any pages of this web site; this example is taken from a common browser, but should work in general on most other browsers; regrettably due to the large number of different browsers, it is not feasible to test them all)

If you wish to search for a particular word or phrase on a page, left-click on the 'Edit' button of the browser, then select 'Find...' from the drop-down menu and key in the word or phrase. Make sure that the 'Match case' box is not ticked.
